The “stay on” properties of Gear Oil 75W/85 GL-4 effectively quieten transmission drive line noise tendencies under conditions of low speed high torque, high speed low torque and shock loading. The foam inhibitors used in Gear Oil 75W/85 GL-4 avoid the natural tendency of transmissions to develop foam. Foam is undesirable because it causes oil film breakdown, promoting ineffective gear lubrication with resultant premature wear.
