Benadryl Allergy Acrivastine & Pseudoephedrine are both  antihistamine and a decongestant  medicine that helps the symptoms of allergies and congestion. It is used to treat hay fever, pet allergies, conjunctivitis (red, itchy eye), dust allergies, skin allergies. How it works: Usually histamine is a useful substance, but in an allergic reaction it causes unpleasant symptoms including itchy, watery eyes, a running or blocked nose, sneezing and skin rashes. Acrivastine blocks the effects of histamine and reduces these symptoms. The decongestants works by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passage. Dosage: The usual dose for adults is 10mg once a day. For children is based on body weight.  Side Effects: The most common side effectS of acrivastine and pseudoephedrine is feeling sleepy and tired. This happens in more than 1 in 10 people, others includes headaches, dry mouth, feeling sick, dizziness and diarrhoea.
